From Masayuki Kaneko Shoemaker, to ORNIQUE.

Thank you, as always, for supporting Masayuki Kaneko Shoemaker.

We have now closed new bespoke commissions under the name Masayuki Kaneko Shoemaker, and begun a new chapter as ORNIQUE.

Masayuki Kaneko Shoemaker began in 2019, as one shoemaker working alone.

Measuring each client's feet, carving the last, cutting the patterns, building each pair by hand.

Bespoke — making a shoe that exists nowhere else — gave me the time to learn what shoemaking truly is.

To fit the foot.
To pursue a beautiful form.
To make something that will be loved for a long time.

Pair by pair, my clients gave me a great deal of experience.

I am sincerely grateful.

At the same time, I felt the limits that bespoke brings with it.

When one maker handles everything from start to finish, only so many pairs can reach people.

How could the appeal of Japanese handmade leather shoes reach more people?

Could the value of traditional shoemaking be kept, and given a form to be enjoyed in modern life?

ORNIQUE was born from those questions.

ORNIQUE inherits the skills and the eye built up until now, and takes on a new form of making.

Two shoe collections open the brand.

「Heritage Collection」

A collection that inherits the value of traditional handmade shoes. Built on the skills developed through bespoke work, made carefully pair by pair on carefully chosen ready-made lasts.

「Code Collection」

A new collection built on the beauty of classic leather shoes and rebuilt for contemporary style. Not only keeping tradition, but expressing what a leather shoe can be in the years ahead.

「Plus 6s Collection」

Beyond shoes, we are also making trousers, so that classic style can be enjoyed more freely.

ORNIQUE does not set out to reproduce the past as it was.

It sets out to understand tradition, pay it respect, and add new value for people living now.

The classic is not something old. It is what goes on lasting, across time.

And it is something still to be made.

Clients who have previously ordered bespoke shoes from Masayuki Kaneko Shoemaker are welcome to place further orders as before.

The shoes we have built together, and the relationships behind them, do not change.

The experience, the skills and the feeling gathered as Masayuki Kaneko Shoemaker.

All of it carried forward, under a new name.

As ORNIQUE, the next story begins.

The classic, more freely, closer to everyday life.
